Dr Berkan Sesen is the founder and principal consultant of Sesen AI, a UK AI consultancy, and holds an Oxford DPhil in artificial intelligence and machine learning. His doctoral work on Bayesian and semantic clinical decision support for lung cancer was piloted at three sites and has been cited more than 200 times. He then spent ten years in quantitative investment and trading, beginning at Citigroup and reaching Executive Director at both J.P. Morgan Asset Management and UBS. He was a senior quantitative portfolio manager running machine-learning-driven funds past 2 billion dollars in assets, and later Head of Algorithmic Execution and AI. He now builds and operates production LLM systems across healthcare and finance. He is co-founder and director of Recallify, an NIHR-funded cognitive support tool for people with brain injury and ADHD, and of A.I.M. Research Lab, a non-profit connecting academic AI research to industry practice.
