Fernando Fernández Martínez is CTO and Director of R&D at GreenSpire Farming Tech, S.L., a Spanish deep-tech company developing advanced biosystems for controlled-environment cultivation.
With more than 30 years of experience across industrial operations, engineering, manufacturing, international expansion and technology development in Spain and Latin America, Fernando focuses on transforming complex ideas into scalable industrial systems.
At GreenSpire, he leads technology strategy, R&D, intellectual property and industrialisation, integrating proprietary cultivation technologies with additive manufacturing, automation, artificial intelligence, advanced fluid management and digital systems.
He is currently driving the development and international deployment of the GreenSpire 360 technology platform, including humanitarian applications, controlled-environment crop research and new applications for resource-constrained and extreme environments.
Fernando was awarded the 2025 Best Startup Award in Castilla y León and, in 2024, received an Innovation Award from Spain’s National Entrepreneurship Office (ONE), under the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
In 2026, Fernando has been nominated at both AgriNext and AiNext Dubai, and will participate as a panelist at AgriNext in “Agri-Tech Startups: Bridging the Gap Between Innovation and Scale.”
